Srinagar, Feb. 23 -- Tremors were felt in Kupwara after an earthquake of 3.8 intensity on Richter scale hit Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officials said.

The tremors were felt at 8.47 pm and lasted for a few seconds.

As per National Center for Seismology, the epicentre of the earthquake is located at latitude 34.28 in the north and longitude 74.00 in the east, with a recorded depth of 10 kilometres in Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.

There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, they said.
