London, July 24 -- Speculation over the future of Newcastle United's Swedish striker, Alexander Isak is set to continue after he was omitted from the club's squad for a pre-season tour of Asia today.

The club explains on its official website that Isak is suffering from a "minor thigh injury," but after coach Eddie Howe commented that the striker had missed last weekend's 4-0 friendly defeat to Glasgow Celtic due to speculation over his future, the news he misses the 10-day visit to Asia will only raise further questions over where he will play next season.

Isak netted 23 goals last season in the Premier League and has been linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal.
