Kolkata, Sept. 16 -- Train services on the busy Sealdah-Budge Budge line were disrupted onthis morning after a fire broke out at unauthorized makeshift shops adjacent to the platform at Santoshpur railway station in south-western Kolkata.
According to officials from Eastern Railway, the fire started around 7:21 AM and quickly spread, gutting several shops before it was brought under control. The blaze brought train operations to a halt, but services resumed by 9:30 AM once the situation was normalized.
However, services were short terminated and trains started plying between Majherhat to Sealdah. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
