Kolkata, July 26 -- In a shocking incident, a Class 9 student died by suicide yesterday night after allegedly being falsely accused of verbally harassing a Class 8 girl and subsequently being beaten and publicly humiliated.
The shocking incident took place on Friday in the Pichhaboni area of Contai (Kanthi), located in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district.
According to the police, a handwritten note believed to be a suicide note was found in the boy's room, in which the 15-year-old wrote that he had done nothing wrong, had been falsely accused and humiliated in public which compelled him to take the extreme step as he could no longer bear the shame.
