Hardoi, Sept. 29 -- A road accident in Hardoi district claimed the lives of five people, including two women and two children, after a speeding Magic vehicle ran over a family standing by the roadside near the Surasa trisection under Surasa Police Station limits.
The accident occurred around 2:30 PM yesterday when the victims had stopped by the road after attending a mundan (head-shaving) ceremony at Baba Temple.
According to the police, the family had gathered to perform the mundan of 8-year-old Kartik, son of Mohini.
