Siddharthnagar (Agra), Oct. 3 -- The joyous occasion of Navratri celebrations turned into a scene of grief in Siddharthnagar district when a truck carrying Goddess Durga idol for immersion came in contact with a high-tension wire, leading to severe burn injuries to at least 10 people, police said today.

Eyewitnesses said the idol immersion procession had converged at Thothari Chauraha when the pickup truck with a decorative iron pipe attached to the top came in touch with an overhead 11,000-volt power line, causing the entire vehicle to become electrified.
