Srinagar, Sept. 16 -- union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari today announced that a two-lane temporary diversion has been constructed on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44), enabling the resumption of traffic despite major landslides caused by relentless rains.
Gadkari chaired a meeting with J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and senior UT officers via video conference from Delhi to review the status of the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway.
Despite continuous rains and a massive landslide, Gadkari said the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) teams are working "tirelessly" to keep this critical highway operational.
