Traffic curbs imposed in Koksar during Halda Utsav for public safety

Keylong, Jan. 22 -- The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Lahaul, at Keylong, has imposed restrictions on vehicular movement and the use of loudspeakers in Koksar Panchayat in view of the ongoing Halda festival for the maintenance of public order and safety of life and property.

According to the official notification, Halda Utsav commenced on January 20, 2026, and is scheduled to continue for approximately one month, following a resolution passed in the meeting of Gram Panchayat Koksar held on January 19. In partial modification of an earlier order dated January 12, the SDM has exercised powers under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, read with Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
