Ghaziabad, Aug. 24 -- A shocking incident occurred on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway in Ghaziabad on Friday evening when a speeding car mowed down a traffic constable on duty.
The victim, 31-year-old Constable Vipin Kumar, succumbed to his injuries 34 hours later, early Sunday morning.
The horrifying moment was captured on CCTV, which shows a white Maruti Ertiga suddenly veering across lanes at high speed and hitting the constable who was standing on the roadside.
The impact was so severe that Vipin was launched nearly 10 feet into the air and landed almost 100 meters away from the point of collision. A passerby witnessed the incident and immediately alerted the police.
