Ranchi, Oct. 15 -- This Diwali, the city is witnessing a remarkable rise in demand for traditional clay and eco-friendly cow dung lamps, adding a natural and cultural glow to the festival of lights being celebrated on October 20 across Jharkhand.
Over 90 women artisans from Sukurhutu Gaushala, Chaputola Arscolourfulande, and Dhurwa Sithio have joined hands to produce nearly seven lakh diyas (lamps), crafted entirely through traditional and sustainable methods.
These lamps are being made with natural materials like cow dung and clay, without any artificial additives.
In Sukurhutu and Bodeya villages, cow dung lamps are being produced using semi-automated machines to meet the soaring demand.
