Dharamshala, Dec. 18 -- Former Himachal Pradesh BJP president, former minister and sitting MLA Vipin Singh Parmar on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the state government, alleging that traders are being forced to provide financial "contributions" in the name of the Kangra Valley Carnival.

Parmar said that the Congress government has made forced collection a policy under the cover of culture. He referred to a letter issued by the Deputy Commissioner's office to the Food and Civil Supplies Department regarding the carnival, calling it evidence of the government's intent.
