Ranchi, July 17 -- A joint meeting of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI), Jharkhand Small Industries Association (JSIA), and Laghu Udyog Bharati was held on Thursday at the JSIA office to discuss the implications of the draft Jharkhand Electricity Consumption Surcharge Rules, 2025, proposed by the Urban Development and Housing Department.

Participants unanimously opposed the proposed 5 pc uniform electricity surcharge for urban power consumers, citing that it would increase costs across sectors-irrespective of consumption levels, usage category, or economic activity.
