Hyderabad, Oct. 6 -- Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has welcomed the Supreme Court's dismissal of a petition challenging 42 per cent reservations for Backward Classes (BCs), terming it a "positive development" in the fight for social justice.

In a media statement here on Monday, he said the Congress Party and the state government are determined to ensure the implementation of 42 per cent BC reservations through all possible means.

He recalled that the government had already taken steps in this direction by bringing in three laws, an ordinance, and a government order.
