Idukki (Kerala), Nov. 29 -- A nerve-wracking ordeal unfolded on Friday afternoon when five tourists, including two small children, were left suspended high above the ground after a crane malfunctioned during a sky-dining experience at a private tourism centre at Anachal.
The concept of "sky-dining" involves hoisting a platform, complete with a dining table, into the air using a crane, allowing diners panoramic views while enjoying a meal. On Friday, shortly after the guests were lifted, the crane reportedly failed, leaving them stranded about 150 feet above ground.
Rescue efforts were activated immediately. The tourists remained suspended for nearly two hours before officials could begin safely bringing them down, sources said.
