Rajahmundry, July 19 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh today called upon people to reduce use of plastic articles in order to protect the environment.
The Tourism Minister participated in the 'Swarnandhra - Swachchandhra' programme, held at Kanoor village of Peravali mandal in Nidadavole constituency on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister voiced his concern on the damage to the ozone layers due to overuse of plastic, refrigerators and air conditioners. He advocated a phased manner of working to reduce plastic use. He called for reducing plastic use in the first phase and eradicating it completely in the second phase.
