Guwahati, Nov. 23 -- A top ranking commander of the anti-talk faction of United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) and one of his accomplice surrendered to the Assam Rifles on Sunday.

The commander, Arunodoi Dahotia alias Bijit Gogoi, had been attached to the 709 company of the organisation also known as Ulfa (Independent). Dahotia also known to be a trusted comrede of Ulfa (I) chief Paresh Baruah.

One of his body guards, Francis Asom also surrendered with Dahotia.

Sources in the police said that Dahotia along with Francis Asom surrendered to the Assam Rifles near Pangsau Pass along the Indo-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh.
