Wellington, Jan. 11 -- Top-seed Elina Svitolina claimed her 19th WTA title on Sunday, defeating China's Wang Xinyu 6-3, 7-6(8) in the ASB Classic final in Auckland, New Zealand.

The 31-year-old Ukrainian saved all four break points faced, won 74 percent of first-serve points, and broke Wang at 4-2 for the only break of the match before sealing the second-set tiebreak.

Svitolina ended a four-match skid from late 2025 due to injury with a five-match winning streak at the WTA 250 event.

"It definitely feels amazing to win another title, especially after a not very pleasant end of the year for me," Svitolina said on court after the match that lasted one hour and 42 minutes.
