Top priority to transparency and social justice in land acquisition : Sinha

Patna, Jan. 13 -- Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha today said that ensuring transparency, sensitivity and social justice in the land acquisition process is the state government's top priority.

Sinha said here that assigning the responsibility of Social Impact Assessment (SIA) in the Magadh division to the Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD), Gaya, would enable a more scientific and impartial assessment of the socio-economic conditions of affected families and local communities. He said this would make decisions related to land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement more just, timely and in public interest.
