New Delhi, Oct. 3 -- The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a penalty of Rs 5 lakh on Drishti IAS (VDK Eduventures Pvt. Ltd.) for disseminating misleading advertisements in relation to the union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2022.
According to a government statement here today, the Institute had prominently advertised "216 selections in UPSC CSE 2022", showcasing names and photographs of successful candidates.
However, a detailed probe by the CCPA revealed that the claim was misleading, with crucial information regarding the nature and duration of the courses undertaken by these candidates being withheld.
