Bhopal, Jan. 2 -- The number of deaths caused by consumption of contaminated water in Indore has climbed to 19, hospital sources said on Friday, even as the Madhya Pradesh government is yet to come out with the official figures.

Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava earlier in the day stated that he has received reports of 13 deaths in the Bhagirathpura area of the city.

Meanwhile, Geeta Bai (68) succumbed at the Aurobindo Medical Science and Research Hospital on Friday due to vomiting, diarrhoea and dehydration.
