Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), Feb. 21 -- Police arrested six narcotic peddlers for smuggling 16 kilograms of ganja in a mini cargo transport vehicle here on Friday.
Acting on a tip off, a police team intercepted the cargo vehicle on suspicion on the Thiruvananthapuram highway and seized the narcotic substance.
The driver and his associate were arrested and based on their confession four more persons who were accompanying the van in two motorcycles were also arrested in this connection.
Investigations revealed that the Ganja was smuggled from Andhra for retail sale in Southern districts.
Palayamkottai police have registered a case and seized the cargo vehicle and two motorcycles. Further investigations were on.
