Tiruchirapalli (Tamil Nadu), April 21 -- In a gruesome incident, a 26-year-old person was burnt alive by an unidentified gang over suspected enmity at Velampatti near Musiri in Tiruchirapalli district in the wee hours of Monday.
Police said the deceased was identified as B.Gopinath, an agriculturist.
Gopinath was sleeping on a cot at his farm, when the gang poured petrol before setting him on fire.
His mother, who saw him burning, doused the fire with the help of neighbours. However, Gopinath was completely charred to death.
The body was removed to the government hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Senior police officials and finger print experts visited the farm and held an inquiry.
