Tiruchirapalli (Tamil Nadu), April 25 -- In a major drug bust, officers of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs seized 9.9 kg of Hydroponic Weed, a narcotic substance from a passenger who had arrived at Tiruchirapalli International Airport from Bangkok via Colombo, it was announced on Friday.

Based on inputs from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the officers of AIU, Tiruchirapalli recovered the Hydroponic Weed, valued at almost Rs 10 crore from the passenger's checked-in-baggage. The passenger had arrived from Bangkok via Colombo by Flight UL-133 on Thursday, said Tiruchirapalli Customs (Preventive) Commissionerate in a post on 'X' on Friday.

The narcotic substance was seized and the passenger has been arrested.
