Chennai, Nov. 10 -- Heightened security arrangements were made across Tamil Nadu in the wake of high intensity car explosionnear the Red Fort gate in New Delhi this evening.
Police sources told UNI tonight that soon after receipt of the information, multi-layer security arrangements were put in place acrossthe state in all airports, railway stations, bus depots, commercial establishments, shopping malls, temples of worship and in placeswhere people congregate in large numbers.
Metal detectos were installed in all airport and railway stations and all passengers are subjected to thorough checks before allowingentry.
Only those with valid tickets are permitted entry and their baggages were also thoroughly scanned.
