Chennai, Oct. 9 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today claimed that the state has emerged as a national leader in the startup segment over the last four years.

Inaugurating the Global Startup Summit 2025 in Coimbatore, Stalin expressed confidence that Tamil Nadu would become the top destination for startups in the country within the next decade.

Highlighting the state's rapid progress, he noted that the number of startups in Tamil Nadu has increased from 2,032 to 12,000 in just four years. Significantly, nearly 50 percent of these ventures are led by women entrepreneurs.

To further support this growth, the Chief Minister announced the creation of a Rs 100 crore fund to invest in startups establishing operations in Tamil Nadu.
