Chennai, June 9 -- Filing of nominations for the June 19 biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha from the Tamil Nadu Assembly ended on Monday and all the six official candidates--three from the ruling DMK, one from its ally, the MNM of actor-politician Kamal Haasan and two from the principal Opposition AIADMK--are set to be elected unopposed on June 12 after the last date for withdrawals, though 13 candidates have filed entered the fray.
Kamal is all set to the enter the Upper House of Parliament for the first time.
According to the Election Commission 13 candidates have filed their nomination papers. But the papers of seven of them--all Independents--will be rejected on scrutiny tomorrow as they did not
