Chennai, June 12 -- All the six official candidates were on Thursday declared elected
unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from the Tamil Nadu Assembly as actor-politician and Makkal
Needhi Maiam (MNM) Founder Kamal Hassan all set to put his foot in the hallowed Parliament
for the first time.
The six candidates--three from DMK, its ally MNM's Kamal, and two from the Opposition AIADMK
--were declared elected the last date for withdrawals today.
The victorious candidates were sitting DMK MP and Senior Counsel P Wilson, re-nominated for
a second term, Party Salem district Secretary S. R. Sivalingam, party functionary and noted Tamil
writer and poet Salma alias Rajathi, Kamal Haasan, AIADMK's Legal Wing Secretary I.S. Inbadurai and Party Chengalp...
