Chennai, Oct. 9 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin today said that the state has reached the top in the country in the startup segment in the last four years.

He also said in the next ten years, Tamil Nadu will be the first state of choice for the startups.

Inaugurating the Global Startup Summit 2025 in Coimbatore, he said many women are heading the startups in the state.

He said out of about 12,000 startups in the state nearly 50% of them are headed by women.

In the last four years, the number of startups in the state has gone up to 12,000 from 2,032.

Mr Stalin said the government will set up a Rs.100 crore fund to invest in the startups setting operations in the state.
