Chennai, Oct. 22 -- As heavy rains battered several parts of Tamil Nadusince yesterday under the influence of a system over the bay that fuelledNortheast monsoon activity, a woman and her daughter died in a wallcollapse near Chidambaram in the North coastal district of Cuddaloretoday afternoon.
Reports received here said a portion of the wall of the House in which theywere staying collapsed due to rains and fell on them.
The deceased were identified as Yashodha and her daughter Jaya.
Police and fire service and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and shiftedthe bodies to government hospital.
