Chenai, April 3 -- After hectic discussions, the BJP on Friday afternoon released the eagerly awaited and much delayed list of 27 candidates contesting the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections nominating key leaders, while leaving out a sulking former party State Uni President K Annamalai.
Among those who were given tickets included two sitting MLAs--BJP State Unit President and Floor leader Nainar Nagendran (Sattur), and National Mahila Morcha President Ms Vanathi Srinivasan (Coimbatore North)--besides senior leader and union Minister L Murugan (Avinashi Reserved) and Ms Vijayadharani (Vilavancode), the seat represented by her as Congress MLA before quitting the party and joining the BJP, and senior state leaders of the saffron party.
