Chennai, Sept. 27 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today took pridethat the state was ranked first in India in farm production capacity (yield).

Speaking after inaugurating the Agricultural Business Festival here, he creditedthis success to a series of pro-farmer policies announced by the ruling DMK'sDravidian Model governance.

He said the state has achieved food grain production of 456 lakh metric tonnesover the last four years and successfully brought 47,000 acres of fallow landback under cultivation.

Furthermore, the state now holds the second rank nationally in oilseed production.
