Chennai, Feb. 17 -- The main opposition AIADMK on Tuesday termed the Interim Budget presented byTamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu, with Assembly elections a few weeks away, as akin toear-piercing (ear boring) ceremony for babies, '"Kadhu Kuthu event", normally a euphemism for cheating(the people).
Talking to reporters outside the Assembly premises, AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the OppositionEdappadi K Palaniswami said questioned the steep fall of nearly Rs 26,000 crore in the State's Own Tax Revenueand asked why the Finance Minister had not offered any convincing explanation.
