Chennai, April 13 -- After being pulled up by the Supreme Court over the delay in
granting assent to the Bills passed in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Governor R N Ravi
on Saturday sparked off yet another row, this time for asking students to chant 'Jai
Shri Ram"at an event, triggering opposition and his removal from Dravidar Kazhagam
(DK) founded by Rationalist leader E V R Periyar.
During an event in Madurai, the Governor had reportedly asked the students to chant
Jai Shri Ram.
Strongly reacting to this, DK President K Veeramani, a staunch follower of Periyar,
demanded his removal for promoting religious fanaticism.
