Udhagamandalam, April 25 -- Triggering yet another row with the ruling DMK,
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi on Friday claimed that the State Government had
threatened and prevented the Vice Chancellors (VCs) of State-run universities
against participating in the conference convened by him in Udhagamandalam.
Speaking at the inauguration of the annual two-day conference of VCs of State,
Central and Private Universities organised by him at Raj Bhavan here and had
the presence of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar as the Chief guest, Mr Ravi
said "there were midnight knock at their doors. The Special Branch of Tamil Nadu
police went and told them that if you participate in the conference, you will not be
able to go home and meet your family."
