Chennai, Sept. 20 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin today emphasized the importance of revealing the historical significanceof Poompuhar, the ancient port city once known as Kaveripoompattinam.
Ponting out to Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu's post that undersea exploration at Poompuhar, Mr Stalin said the deep seaexcvation woud throw more light to the world the pride of flourishing Poompuhar which was submerged in water after a 2023 study provided more evidence of an ancipent port buried undersea.
In a post on social media, he highlighted the state's efforts to explore and showcase the rich maritime heritage of Tamil Nadu.
