Chennai, March 28 -- The Tamil Nadu government has notified the Kasampatty
(Veera Kovil) Sacred Grove near Alagarmalai Reserve Forest in Dindigul district
as a Bio-diversity Heritage Site.
Chief Minister M K Stalin has approved the notification, a release from the Addtional
Chief Secretary, Department of Environment, Climate Change and Forests, said.
Accordingly, a notification to this effect was published by the Forest Department
in the Government Gazette notifying Kasampatty located near the Alagarmalai
Reserve Forest in Dindigul Forest as a Bio-diversity Heritage site under the
Biological Diversity Act 2002.
