Chennai, May 29 -- The Tamil Nadu constituted the Seventh State Finance Commission, comprising six members, on Thursday to review the financial position of various urban and rural local bodies and make recommendations on the distribution of funds to be provided by the State Government.

As laid down in the Constitution, the State Government has appointed Chairman and members of this Commission headed retired IAS officer K Allaudin as its Chairman.

The other members are Non-official Member--N. Dinesh Kumar, Mayor, Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation, Ex-officio Members-- Director of Municipal Administration; Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and Commissioner of Town Panchayats.
