Chennai, Sept. 24 -- The Tamil Nadu government today announced the recipients of the prestigious Kalaimamani and legendary carnatic vocalist MS Subbulakshmi (MSS) awards for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023, while choosing renowned singer K J Yesudasfor the MSS award.
These awards, conferred by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram, recognize outstanding contributions to the fields of literature, music, and theatre.
The government also announced Bharathiyaar award for Prof N Murugesa Pandian (Iyal-Literature category), PadmabhushanK J Yesudoss for (Isai-Music) and Balasaraswathi award to Padma Shri Muthukannammal (Naatiyam--Dance). The award carriesRs one lakh cash prize and a three sovereign Gold Medallion.
