Chennai, Feb. 2 -- Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday announced that theBudet outlay for Tamil Nadu for Railways was Rs 7,611 crore, a nine fold increase as againstthe the average outlay of Rs 879 crores allocated for 2009-14.
Addressing a press conference via video conferencing, highlighting the salient features forthe southern states in the Budget presented by union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman,he announced the state-wise budgetary allocation for the railway projects for 2026-27 fiscalincluding the outlay for rail projects in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala that fall in theSouthern Railway jurisdiction.
