Chennai, April 13 -- Several parts of Tamil Nadu continued to experience
sweltering heat wave conditions, with the temperatures crossing 100 Deg F,
even as the Met office on Sunday said the maximum temperatures over the
state rose appreciably above normal by 3-5 Deg C at isolated pockets.
"They were 3-5 Deg C above normal at a few pockets over the north coastal
and neighbouring districts of Tamilnadu and over Puducherry & Karaikal areas",
it said.
In all nine districts recorded temperatures in excess of 100 deg F during the
last 24 hrs ending at 0830 hrs today today, with Vellore in North Interior district
recording the highest of 40.1 DC (2.0 deg above normal) followed by Tiruttani
and other places.
