Chennai, Oct. 8 -- Condemning the ongoing "genocide" in Gaza by Israel, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin today said the State Assembly would pass a resolution pressing for a ceasefire and urging the union Government to take all necessary steps to bring an end to the two-year-old war.
"The resolution will reflect the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu. Cutting across the political divide, I hope all parties would extend support to the resolution," he said, addressing a protest rally in Chennai, organised by the CPI(M) in support of an Independent Palestine and to put an end to the "genocide".
It was attended by the ruling DMK and its allies, including the Congress, CPI, VCK, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi.
