Chennai, Feb. 5 -- In a major boost to industrial development, the Tamil NaduCabinet on Thursday cleared investments by 15 firms committing investments tothe tune of Rs 34,237.39 crores.

The meeting held at the State Secretariat and chaired by Chief Minister M K Stalinsaid these investments would provide jobs to 55,096 people in the state.

The investments ranged in various sectors ensuring widespread and inclusive growthacross the state in a bid to achieve the ambitious target of making Tamil Nadu aUSD one trillion economy by 2030.

The Cabinet also cleared the interim budget to be presented by the ruling DMK as theAssembly elections are due in a few weeks time and a full-fledged one would be tabledthe next government.
