Chennai, March 27 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin listed out the clauses in the Waqf Board(Amendment) Bill, introduced in Parliament that would affect the Muslims and undermine their authority, while moving a resolution urging the Centre to withdraw it in toto.

Speaking after moving the resolution, which was adopted unanimously despite a walk out by the BJP, Mr Stalin said there are several reasons why we oppose these amendments.

Highlighting some of the serious consequences that could arise from these proposed changes, he said the Bill envisages increased Government Control undermining the autonomy of Waqf institutions.
