Chennai, Oct. 14 -- The opening day's proceedings of the Monsoon session of the Tamil NaduAssembly was adjourned today without transacting any business after adopting obituary referencesin respect of eight former members who passed away in the intervening period.
Soon after the House Assembled, Speaker M Appavu read out the obituary references and offeredhis condolences.
Condolence resolutions were also adopted in respect Valparai MLA Amul Kandasamy of AIADMKwho passed away recently and other prominent leaders, inlucidng former Kerala and Jharkhand ChiefMinisters V S Achuthanandan and Shibu Soren, former Ngaland Governor L Ganesan, CPI formerGeneral Secretary Sudhakar Reddy, senior Tamil Nadu IAS Officer Dr Beela Venkatesan and others.
