Sivaganga (Tamil Nadu), Feb. 28 -- In a gruesome incident, a youth was gored to death and several others injured during a 'Manjuvirattu' (Bulls race also another form of Jallikattu) event held at Nemam Village in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu on Friday.
Police said during the Manjuvirattu event, a ferocious bull unleashed into the arena gored K Ajith Kumar (24) in the chest when he and the bull owner attempted to tie the bull with a rope at the collection point.
The grievously injured youth was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to the injury tonight.
Several spectators and bull tamers were injured in the daylong event.
The Thirumayam police have registered a case and are investigating.
