Madurai (Tamil Nadu), March 19 -- Thousands of devotees participated in the annual "Panguni Therottam" (temple car festival) of the renowned Lord Subramanya Swamy Temple, the first of the six abodes of Lord Murugan at Thiruparankundram on the outskirts of Madurai city here on Wednesday.
The car festival is held as part of the ongoing 14-day annual 'Panguni Brahmotsavam' festival.
Religious fervor permeated Thiruparankundram, as the devotees pulled the aesthetically decorated bigger wooden car of 'Lord Sri Subramanya Swamy' and his consort 'Goddess Sri Deivanai' mounted on a smaller wooden car around the important streets, this morning.
