Ariyalur (Tamil Nadu), Feb. 13 -- A septuagenarian was charred to death after his car crashed into the road median and caught fire on the Soorakuzhi main road at Andimadam in Ariyalur district on Thursday.
Police said the deceased L.Anbazhagan (67) was running a hotel at Jayamkondam.
He was driving the car to the hotel from his house at Andimadam and on enroute the vehicle hit the road median and caught fire.
The doors of the car got stuck trapping Anbazhagan inside it. The fire engulfed the entire car.
The locals were not able to rescue Anbazhagan, due to the blaze.
Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services department personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire.
