Erode (Tamil Nadu), March 19 -- A history-sheeter was brutually murdured in broad daylight at Nasiyanur on the Salem-Coimbatore National Highway in Erode district on Wednesday.
Preliminary reports quoting police sources said the history-sheeter, identified as John alias Chanakya (35), hailing from Kitchipalayam in Salem and his wife Saranya were returning from Salem to Tiruppur in a car, when an unidentified gang following them in two cars deliberately rammed their vehicles into the car driven by John.
The gang then attacked John with sickles, killing him on the spot. His wife Saranya sustained injuries when she attempted to save him from the attack and was admitted to a private hospital.
