Chennai, July 31 -- Having quit the NDA, expelled AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam this evening called on Chief Minister and DMK supremo MK Stalin at the latter's residence, triggering speculation of a possible alliance.



"Anything might happen in politics and at the time of elections. There are no permanent enemies or friends in politics," was OPS's response to a question from the media on a future alliance with the DMK.

Emerging from the Chief Minister's residence, he, however, maintained that the visit, accompanied by his son and former MP, Raveendranath, was to enquire about Stalin's health and personally offer condolences in view of the demise of the chief minister's elder brother MK Muthu.
