Kolkata, March 1 -- West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress on Friday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting the state just before the Lok Sabha election and dubbed his tour as another round of "pre-election theatrics".

The Prime Minister is on a two-day tour of Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar on March 1 and 2 when he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects.

West Bengal Minister for Industries, Commerce & Enterprises Shashi Panja asked the Prime Minister "Does your itinerary include Bengal only when votes are at stake?"

She wondered where the Prime Minister was during the two years of agony faced by Bengal's MGNREGA workers.
